R.J. Barrett, at the buzzer, ruins Wemby’s big night…. Forces Game Five
R.J. Barrett may not have been the hero Texas expected, but he was the hero they got. In a game with at least a dozen lead changes in the second half, Barrett drains a mid range jumper as time expires in the fourth quarter. It was the difference maker as Texas wins by a score of 127-126. Barrett ended up posting a stat line of 18/7/9. Texas has a balanced attack with six players scoring the double digits. The victory did come at a cost. Guard, Jamal Murray, went down with injury in the opening minutes of the game, and will be out for the decisive Game Five.
The loss for Nevada ruined an epic night by center, Victor Wembanyama. He shot 21-32 and went for 48 points. He also had eight rebounds, six assists, and two blocks. Nevada will need more of that from Wemby at home if they hope to advance.
