2025 RBA Playoff Preview

The matchups for the 2025 RBA Playoffs have been set. Below are the matchups and a quick summary of the teams still in it.  For the first round, teams will play a best of five series.  The RBA finals will be a best of seven series.

 #1 Virginia Cavaliers (17 - 5) vs #4 Luthadel Allomancers (11 - 11) - Virginia had the best record in the RBA from the start of the season.  They have a stacked lineup.  Four of the five starters can Dazzle from their card (automatic two points when it comes up).  Luthadel had to fight thru the final week of the regular season, and utilize a tiebreaker to clinch a playoff spot with a .500 record.  There are big names on both rosters.  This should be a good matchup

Virginia Starting FIve: J. Morant, G. Dick, D. Avdija, G. Antetokounmpo, A. Sengun  Top Bench Players: I. Zubac, V. Krejci, B. Brown, D. Banton, S. Merrill, L. Markkanen, G. Payton

Luthadel Starting Five: D. Garland, I. Quickley, K. Leonard, J. Smith, N. Jokic Top Bench Players: C. Kispert, D. DiVincenzo, B. Beal, K. George, O. Agbaji, K. Filipowski

 #2 Nevada Gamblers (14 - 8) vs #3 Texas Longhorns (12 - 10) - Nevada, the defending champions will be relying on the big guy again.... for as long as he is able to play.  Wemby has limited minutes.  However, Kristaps Porzingis is a good a #2 center a team can ask for.  Texas is lead by SGA who has a strong supporting cast.  This, too, should be a well balanced series.

Nevada Starting Five: C. Braun, D. Daniels, O. Anunoby, J. Williams, V. Wembanyama Top Bench Players: J. Grant, J. Green, K. Porzingis, S. Aldama, K. Porter

Texas Starting Five: J. RMurray, S. Gilgeous-Alexander, J. COllins, R. Barrett, D. Ayton Top Bench Players: D. Brooks, S. Sharpe, J. Duren, B. Mathurin, H. Barnes
